We live in a world of constantly changing and expanding choices when it comes to buying.
A hundred years ago, things were much simpler. The only format that works were available in was print, and normally you could only buy them through one source (your local store). Also, the only way you could pay was typically cash.
Now things are different. Print is only one of the options you have. There are also e-books (Kindle, Nook, others) and audio books, as well as other formats like mp3s, DVDs, and downloadable video. There are multiple places to buy from (the publisher, your local bookstore, a web site, Amazon, and others). There are different means of payment (cash, checks, credit cards, PayPal, and others). In addition, there are different ways people may run across a product, including web pages, blogs, podcasts, YouTube, radio and television spots, etc.
This is a dizzying array of options, and like many authors, I am struggling to keep up with it. Between all the different formats, ways to pay, and ways that people may come into contact with my works, I finally decided that I needed to create a page on the Internet where I could keep everything straight--a place where I list all of the options, so people can choose their preferences.
That way, whenever a new buying option (a format, a payment method, a major seller) becomes available, I can update this one, single location, without having to update all the various links to the product, all over the Internet.
My goal is to make it easier for you to purchase the product you want, in the format and by the means that you want it. Thus: TheJimmyStore.Com.
