More broadly, do the early Fathers always agree with the Church on core dogma?
A fundamenatlist preacher near me condemns Calvin's predestination as false. He says Augustine taught pre-destination too and that Calvin took the heresy of Augustine even further to perdition.
What exactly did Augustine teach on pre-destination? I've read contradictory views from supposedly orthdox Catholics on what he really meant about the doctine of pre-destination.
Does the church condemn Augustine's pre-destination theology?
